Abstract Aim of the work To compare the effectiveness of different treatment modalities: classical treatment, calcitonin or acupuncture on the natural course of migraine. Conclusion It is concluded that calcitonin was more effective in short term treatment than in long term treatment. Also, we concluded that both of acupuncture and flunarizine treatment were effective as prophylactic treatment in migraine. However acupuncture was superior to flunarizine and has fewer side effects. It may be worthwhile recommending the use of calcitonin treatment as an analgesic during the migraine attack and acupuncture and fluranizine treatment as prophylactic treatment in migraine. |
