Abstract

The Present Study has been Conducted in the Family Planning Clinics at El- Minia and Assiut University Hospitals to explore the impact of four Different Hormonal Contraceptives on blood Glucose.
The impact of these Hormonal Contraceptives on blood Sugar Differed According to the type and dose of their Progestogen Content. With NET-EN Injectable, there was a Statistically Insignificant Decrease in the Fasting blood Sugar,2-hour Post- Glucose blood Sugar and Glycosylated Haemoglobin levels after six Months of use.Also.Triovlar pills caused slight Decrease in both the Fasting and 2-hour post-Glucose blood Sugar but no change in Glycosylated Hemoglobin levels after six Months of use. with Oval pills, there was Statistically Significant as Regards the Fasting blood Sugar and Glycosylated Hemoglobin levels but Insignificant as regards 2-hour post-Glucose blood sugar. with Norplant Implants, there was a Statistically Significant Increase in all the three Parameters (Fasting, Levels)after six Months of use. In Spite of this increase, blood Sugar and Glycosylated Hemoglobin Values were within the Normal range.
