Abstract Aim of the work : 1-Evaluation of partial splenic embolization (PSE) in treatment of hypersplenism in cirrhotic patients versus surgical splenectomy. 2-Follow-up and determination of the outcome of PSE in our patients to expand the existing data and to encourage more widespread use of this technique. So in present study we selected forty patients with liver cirrhosis complicated by hypersplenism twenty patients to eated by splenic embolization (group I) and the other group submitted for surgical splenectomy (group2). All patients were subjected to the following studies: B- Laboratory studies which includes: 1- Complete blood cont using fully autornated ell counter (sysmex S.F. 3-000). e- HBsAg and HCY -antibody(ELISA, Ortho diagnostic 2nd .) generation . f-Platelet associated immunoglobulin(ELISA, uSing orthphenyldiamine). 5- Kidney function tests including blood u:oea and seram creatinine determination. |
