Abstract
The aim of this study is to review the role of DNA fingerprinting in the medico-legal field. This study was done to throw light on the importance of DNA in medicolegal field. The discovery that genetic information is coded along the length of a polymeric molecule composed of only 4 types of units is one of the major scientific achievements of this century.
