Abstract
Aim of the work:
The aim of this study is to find the possible role of H. Pylori in inducing apoptosis by estimating the serum and tissue levels of the apoptic marker; soluble fas in patients with gastric and deudenal ulcer.
Conclusion:
H. pylori is considered as a very important pathogen in patients presenting with dyspeotic symptoms or those subjected to upper gastric endoscopy, a close relation has been found between this infection and gastric epithelial cells apoptosis. Soluble fas could be used effectively as a useful marker for apoptosis either in the tissue or serum, since its levels are strongly correlated in both tissue and serum.
