Abstract

Nutrition is one of the most important measures of health and development.
Interaction of infection and nutrition is well documented By many studies Better nutrition means stronger immune system, less illness and better health.
Worm infestation is a major problem in children of developing countries due to bad hygiene, it produce nutritional deficiency and anemia in children, which affect children growth and cognitive function A parasite can invade our body and interfere with the normal physiologic process. Many infections cause nutrient deficiencies due to poor digestion and malabsorption ; as well as diarrhea caused by parasites which constitutes the single greatest world wide cause of illness and death.
Diseases caused by parasites are fairly common in children who play in dirt where worms and other parasites live Parasites of medical importance are divided into three categories:I- Helminthes includes : Phylum Platyhelmimhes, Flat worms; this phylum contains 2 classes : classTrematoda includes(Fasciola, Heterophycs and Schistosoma), Class Cestoda includes(Taenia, E.granulosus, Dipylidium caninum, Diphylobothrium latum, Hymenplepis diminuta and Hymenolepis nana)Phylum ; Nemathelminthes: Round worms contain Class Nematoda (Ascaris lumbricoides, Strongyloides stercoralis,Trichinella spiralis, Trichuris trichiura, Hook worms, Wucheraria bancrofti, Loa loa, Dracunculus medinensis and Entrobius vermicularis)II- Arthropod includes (Insecta, Arachinida, Crustacea),III- Protozoa includes (Phizopoda, Cliata, Masligophora,Sporoza).Parasitic protozoa of man fall into 2 groups: intestinal protozoa:including Amoebae. Balantidium coli, Giardia and other blood protozoma: including leishmonia, trypanosoma and malaria.
