Abstract
Intrusion detection system(ids)is atool used to strength the defense line that used in securing networks. it used as aresult of increasing the mumber of networks and their interconnection with te internet . consequently there is increasing number of intrusions attacks) for networks).one of the most commonly used approaches for intrusion detection system is rule-based expert systems. expert systems cause frequent updates problem to intrusion detection system. this problem can be tackled by another technique such as neural networks.(nns)the most common adantages of neural networks are their inherent speed and their ability for learning this thesis focuses on design and implementation of ids with a reduced rate of alerts and false positives (fps).based on neural networks this system called reduced rate of alte of alerts and on line adaptive intrusion detection system based on neural networks raidsnn.
