Abstract
The present study aimed to detect the apoptotic changes in the submandibular and sublingual salivary glands of streptozotocin induced diabetic rats both histologically and immunohistochemically. Also to correlate and compare between these changes on adult and old aged male rats. Thirty male albino rats were used in this study each 5 rats were housed in separate dated cages and fed standardized diet and tap water ad libitum. Half the number of animals were left for age of 5-6 moths and considered as adult group while the other half left for age 10 – 11 months and considered as old groups.
