Abstract vThis study presents the results of survey conducted to identify and evaluate the importance of the significant factors contributing to delay in Egyptian public water pipeline construction projects. Respondents of this survey included engineers and top managers from public owner and contractors involved in water pipeline projects in Egypt. Also this study demonstrates the effectiveness of some suggestions to mitigate the delays with reference to a ranking order established using the mean score method. The extent of the differences in perception among the two respondent groups, owner and contractor, on these two issues was also examined using the rank agreement factor (RAF), percentage agreement (PRAF), and spearman’s ranking correlation coefficient (ρ). The results of the study showed that the client and contractor groups held different perceptions regarding the significance of various delay Causes (RAF MAX=1.95 And P=0.408). |
