Abstract pathologic characterstics and the faunal content of the r Formation refleot the depositioii in fairly shallow marine foment • The uppermost unit of the Pliocene section is the Shagra *tion. This unit is represented by calcareous sandstones, limestones and reefal limestones. It indicates the st fossilifrous beds in the studied section. The lower is dominated by oysters and pectinids, while the upper is flooded with clyea3teroid echinid tests, especially ypeaster and Laganum.
