Abstract
Maternal obesity is a serious condition that significantly impacts not only mothers’ health but also the health and future of their children. It is of paramount that all levels of health care providers be aware of consequences of obesity and be knowledgeable of effective interventions. No effective long-term interventions have been demonstrated to prevent or control obesity during pregnancy.
Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the pregnancy outcome complicated by obesity.
The sample consisted of two groups according to body mass index(BMI) (obese group, 289 with BMI >30 kg/m2 and normal weight group, 212 with BMI <30 kg/m2.
The study was conducted at Labor Unit, Zagazig Maternity Hospital,affiliated to Zagazig University Hospital.
Data were collected through obstetric departments
Methods of data were collectied by three different ways 1- an interview, assessment for mother and taking sociodemographic characterstic and family history 2- evaluation of maternal and fetus through examination and antepartum follow up the mother ; and 3-evaluation the condition of mother and fetal outcomes during delivery.
