Abstract In this study comparison between two of non-noble and semi-noble alloys to study the effect of repeated casting on: 1. The microstructure. 2. The corrosion behavior. 3. The mechanical properties. The alloys selected were: a) Non-noble alloys: including the nickel-chromium alloy from Ruthinium and the Gemini II alloy from kerr. b) Semi-noble alloys: including the palliag M alloy from Degu8sa and the Cast Palladium 20 alloy from sho£u. These properties were tested as follows: 1. The microstructure: Electrolytic polishing and etching using the Electrolytic Polishing Equipment ”Elypovist”. 2. The corrosion resistance: Electrochemical test as described by Makrides using a Potentioscan ”Wenking Electronic Potentioscan” and an Electrometer ”Keithley 602 Electrometer”. The corroded specimens were evaluated using the scanning electron microscope ”Jeol’”. |
