Abstract 3. CONCLUSION from the current investigation, it could be included that: Sharptooth catfish in the River Nile at Assiut Governorate are considered susceptible to mycobacterial infection. Further investigations should be made to explore the prevalence and source of infection also factors play an important role in spreading of such infection among wild sharptooth catfish. Individuals that handle sharptooth catfish should wear heavy gloves (made of leather or heavy cotton) to avoid puncture wounds from fish spines, and wash hands thoroughly after handling or processing fish. Open cuts or scrapes on hands and arms should be thoroughly cleaned and bandaged. |
