Abstract The aim of the present work is to study certain factors affecting quantitative and qualitative production of royal jelly all over the year as can as possible. Thus, the following factors had been studied: 1- Types of food. 2- Age of worker larvae at grafting. 3- Population density of nurse worker bees in the colony. 4- Number of queen cell-cups in the colony and their types. 5- Different seasons. The highest amount of royal jelly was obtained from honey bee colony having a high population of young worker bees (2-7 days old) and supplied with 50% sucrose syrup beside sucrose-yeast cake fortified with pollen and grafted with worker larvae aged 12-36 hrs in strong colony containing at least 7 combs covered with adult bees. |
