Abstract

The present work is planned to study the detailed lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy, ecostrategraphy and chronostratigraphy of the subsurface Paleozoic-Mesozoic succession in the area north western part of the Western Desert represented by the subsurface section in Bahrein-1 well depending on its lithologies and foraminiferal content. The studied bore hole (Bahrein-1 well) lies in the area north Western Desert, it is located at lat 28° 48̀ 10″ N and long 26° 33̀ 15″ E (fig -1). It penetrates through a succession measuring 3037 m from depth 3037m at its bottom till the ground level. The studied part lies between depth 2853m and depth 1200m comprising different Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic strata. The studied succession includes the main part of the Paleozoic, the Jurassic and the basal part of the Lower Cretaceous. It measures 1653 m depending on the available rocks samples
