المستخلص The present study aimed to identify the effectiveness of using cooperative learning strategy on second grade students’ academic achievement, achievement motivation, self-esteem and acceptability towards cooperative work. The sample of the study consisted of (148) of second-grade students in Abnub prep. school for boys, with average age 12.61, SD 0.64. The Following Tools were used in the study: a pre and post achievement tests, The wide-range intelligence and personality test, a questionnaire major of achievement motivation, a self-esteem questionnaire and acceptability towards cooperative work questionnaire. Results of the Study Showed That: There were statistically significant differences in favour of the experimental group between means of scores obtained by subjects of the experimental and the control groups in the post achievement test (grammar, reading comprehension, writing, the test as a whole) (each achievement level on its own). High-achieving students obtained the greatest benefits from using cooperative learning strategy, then the average-achieving students and finally the low achieving students. There were no were no statistically significant differences between means of scores obtained by subjects of experimental and control groups in the post achievement test (vocabulary). There were statistically significant differences in favour of the experimental group between means of scores obtained by subjects of the experimental and the control groups in the post achievement motivation questionnaire, the post self steam questionnaire and the post cooperative work acceptability questionnaire. |
