المستخلص This study aimed at identifying the relationship between adolescents’ suicidal thinking and both their personality traits and the stress of life events to which they are exposed in their daily life. The study instruments were adminstered Scale of Probability of Suicidal Thinking ,Clinical Analysis questionnaire (CAQ),Scale of Stressful Life Events on a sample of (281 )female and male students in Sohag city . This study had the following results:(1) . There was a statistically significant positive correlation between probability of suicidal thinking and some personality traits , such as Suspiciousness(L), Imagination (M) , Insecurity(O),Radicalism(Q1),Tension(Q4),Hypochondriasis(D1), Suicidal depression(D2) ,Anxious depression(D4) ,Low energy depression (D5),Guilty and Resentment(D6) ,Boredom and Withdrawal(D7) ,Paranoia (Pa), Schizophrenia (Se) , Psychasthenia(As) , Psychological Imadeyuacy (Ps). The study showed a statistically significant negative correlation between probability of suicidal thinking and some personality traits ,such as Emotional stability(c) , Conformity(G),Boldness(H),Self-discipline (Q3),Psychopathic Deviation(Pp) .The study did not show a statistically significant correlation between suicidal thinking and the following personality traits: Warmth(A) ,Intelligence(B) ,Dominance(E) , Impulsivity(F) ,Sensitivity(I), Shrewdness(N), Self Sufficiency(Q2) , Agitation(Q3) .(2)There was a statistically significant positive correlation between the probability of suicidal thinking and stressful life events. (3)There was statistically significant gender differences in the variable of probability of suicidal thinking, in favor of females. (4)There was statistically significant gender differences in the variable of stressful life events, in favor of females. |
