Abstract The study was carried out for bacteriological and pathological examination of pneumonic lungs of lambs. The examined lungs were collected from a total number of 70 lambs during the period from January, 2004 to February, 2005. The gross lesions of the affected lungs were recorded followed by collection of tissue specimens. • Macroscopic appearance ( Most of the lungs appeared congested, dark red in colour, firm in consistency and on cut section, bloody fluid exuded from it. In some cases found minute petecheal I haemorrhages appeared on the dorsal surface of the anterior lobe. Other cases showed multiple abscesses within the lung parenchyma. \ • Microscopic appearance \ \ n<> In case of negative bacterial infection; the pulmonary tissue of the lungs affected with ~arlY normal histologic structure of normal bronchiole and surrounding alveoli. |
