المستخلص

The present study aimed at answering the following question: How effective is the use of some technological approaches to mathematics instruction in the academic achievement of Yemeni basic education seventh grade students and their attitude towards using educational technology? A number of questions were formulated and the hypotheses included the dependent and independent variables of the study, given that the approaches used in the study were the computer-based learning variable, the play learning variable, and the guided exploration learning variable.
To answer the study questions and verify its hypotheses, an educational program was prepared for each of the three experimental groups to teach the “groups” topic. The researcher also prepared an achievement test on this unit and the “Attitude towards Using Educational Technology in Learning” Scale.
The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are the following:
- The three educational programs prepared for the purpose of the present study were effective in increasing academic achievement.
- There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the control group students and those of the students of each of the three experimental groups on the achievement test in favour of the experimental groups.
- The technological approaches used in the study were effective in developing the attitudes of the students of the three experimental groups towards using educational technology.
- There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the control group students and those of the students of the first and second experimental groups (the educational computer group and the educational games group). There were no difference between the mean scores of the control group students and those of the students of the third experimental group (the guided exploration group).

In the light of these results, the researcher made a number of recommendations in addition to presenting some suggested research.

The study consists of six chapters as follows:
- Chapter One deals with the study plan and its general framework.
- Chapter Two deals with educational technology and the educational process.
- Chapter Three discusses the independent variables of the study (the computer-based learning variable, the educational games learning variable, and the guided exploration learning variable).
- Chapter Four discusses the dependent variables of the study which include academic achievement and the attitude towards using educational technology.
- Chapter Five deals with the preparation of educational programs and study tools.
- Chapter Six presents the study experiment and its results.
