Abstract This work was conducted to assess the in vitro capacity of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from HCV patients to secrete IL-6, both spontaneously and in response to LPS which is a TLR4 ligand. The mean value of spontaneous IL-6 secretion of PBMCs isolated from cases was significantly higher than that isolated from the control group, while The mean value of induced IL-6 secretion of PBMCs isolated from cases was significantly lower than that isolated from the control group. This work was conducted to evaluate the response of Toll-like receptor 4 in chronic hepatitis C virus infection via assessment of the in vitro capacity of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from chronic HCV patients to secrete IL-6 both spontaneously and in response to LPS which is a TLR4 ligand. |
