High velocity forces, such as moving vehicle accidents and high falls are necessary to cause this fracture, Stress fractures are extremely rare. The fracture is classified according to its anatomical location into four types; transepiphyseal with or without dislocation hip, transcervical, cervicotrochanteric and intertrochanteric fractures. |
