المستخلص The Yemeni migration is among the oldest kinds of migration. It was a collective migration after the rapture of Mareb Dam. The Xlfe i~cniP eopk travelled North and south and established new civilizations. With the advent of Islam, Yemeni migration participated greatly in spreading ,the new religion to the east in Asia and to the west in Africa and Europe at the hands of sailors and merchants. External Yemeni migration was -the first base for the cultural, social, economic and civilizational development in Yemen. This type of migration helped to connect the Yemeni Society with other civilizations, transmitting new ideals and thoughts. The external migration was reflected on the Yemeni family which had many changes in its structure and functions. Regarding the dominant gender aspect in the family, Feminism of the Yemeni family become widespread, an aspect commonly spread in the drab countries that send out workforce. Since the migrants leave the family members, the wife and the children, this also led to unstability in the structure of the family. Other results were weakness of the values of self-respect and respecting the familial, religious values of co-operation and interassistance. Some problems appeared as a result of the lack of commitment on the part of the father, or the responsibie, iuwai-ds the finaiicial duties of his famiry members. Sometimes the problems result from the weakness of the tie connecting the father to the family members. The researcher studies the phenomenon of external migration and its influence on the Yemeni family structurally and functionally in Hadramawt governorate. The study attempts to know: 1, The aspects and nature of external migration in Hadramawt governorate. 2, The social effects of external n;;z!-~tinq on Yemeni family: il~c wife-husband relationship, social upbrii~gink c7 children, change in functions and the shape of power or dominance in the family. |
