المستخلص The results of the present study could be summarized as follow:1- The mode of inheritance of black glume colour in durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L.) was investigated in crosses between four black-glumed landraces collected from farmers’ fields in Upper Egypt and a white-glumed local cultivar (Sohag-3). The results of the genetic analyses indicated that the black glume character was monogenically controlled with co-dominance between the two alleles of the Bg gene. The statistical analyses of the segregating generations revealed good fit to the expected 1black : 2intermediate : 1white ratio in the F2’s and to the 1:1 ratio in the BC1 and BC2 of the four crosses. 2- The QTL (quantitative trait loci) analysis for grain protein percentage (GPP) was also carried out for two of the four crosses. The black-glumed parental landraces uniformly exhibited higher GPP (averaged 18.17%) than the white-glumed parental |
