No doubt that the idea of progress in modern Arabic thought in the 19th century is an attempt to explain the concept of progress in modern Arab thought. This study is divided into two main section
a: the problems of progress and the philosophical discourse; and this was chapterized as follows 1:The Concept of Progress. 2-Fundamentalism of Progress, 3- The Mechanisms of Progress, 4- The Obstacles of Progress.
Ends in section, the researcher tried to explain and show the character of the Arab progress discourse in the nineteenth century.
B: issues of Progress and the Philosophical Project; and this was chapterized as follows; 1- progress and the Issues of Heritage, included the heritage, and its concept, the issues of Heritage such as religion, the authenticity of Arab culture, Arab language, customs and habits. 2- - Progress and the Issues of Modernization, included the idea of modernization , and its main issues such as, the situation towards the western culture, science trends and philosophies, and also the situation towards orientlists and philosophy. 3- Progress and the Issues of Consciousness , included the idea of Consciousness and Its Main Issues such as ; Islamic league and the idea of nationalization. 4- Progress and the Issues of freedom , included the idea of freedom , and Its main issues such as political freedom, the free opinion, the freedom of woman, and religion. 5- progress and the issues of reform included the most important reform project such as the reform of education and learning, religious reform , social and moral reform.
At the end of this chapter the researcher tried to explain the most important reform project in the 19th century.
