Abstract A cross sectional descriptive study was used in this study aiming to assess the quality of life for cancer patient<; undergoing chemotherapy. The sample were 71 patients who were treated in the oncology unit in Port Said general hospital. Data were collected using an interview questionnaire. When IL<~ing the quality of life index for the cancer patients, in this study, it showed that their quality of life was below the median range. Caneer and chemotherapy were adversely affecting all dimension of quality of life. Health and functiuning dimension was the worst affected. ’whereas the family dimension was the least affected quality of life dimension. The marital status, level of education and patient’s income were the filctors that significantly affect the quality of life for cancer patient undergoing chemothempy. With applying the regression analysis it<; revealed that as the educational level increased the quality of life significantly increase and as the nwnber of side effects increased the quality oflife significantly decreased. |
