Abstract
Cancer is now considered a world health problem< In 1980
more than six miUion cases of cancer had been recorded annually
worldwide with four milHon deaths from the disease occurred
annually worldwide< ln 1985 acrording to (WHO) those figures
increased to 9 million cases and 5 million deaths and expected to
be 15 million cases with 9 million deaths by the year 2015<
(Bawar)r et at, 1998; KodlaJh &KodiDJh, 1995).
Cancer is not only a disease but also a series of bad
cxpc’Iicnces that profOtmdly affect the daily living ofboth the
person wOO has the cancer and those who share i.he experience_
Cancer is a collective term for many dillCrent disease~ each
carrying a different prognosis and with a variety of consequences
for the individuals concerned (Walsh, 1002).
