Abstract The present investigation was carried out at Kom—Ombo ricultural Experiment and Research Station, of A.R.C. to udy the effect of different nitrogen rates and time of rvest on the productivity of three sugar cane varieties ring, 1986/1987 (plant crop) and 1987/1988 (first ratoon op). The experiment was conducted out by planting three rieties; i.e. G.T. 54/9, G. 74/96 and G. 75/393. The plication three nitrogen rates i.e. 180, 210 and 240 kg fed. and using six dates of harvest after 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14 months in plant and first ratoon crops for the ree varieties. The soil of the experiment was loamy. The design of the experiment was split-split, with ur replicates with 4 rows in each sub-sub-plot, cane rieties were randomly arranged in the main plots. The .trogen levels were distributed in the first split and rvest time, was assigned to the second split. To insure e harvest time for first ratoon crop, another trail .milar to the first one was carried out and was harvested one time. The planting was carried out on March 7th 1986, using v method of sowing with healthy cut seed from first crop |
