Abstract For the present study, an area of about 6100 feddans was chosen border of the Nile Valley to the east of Assiut city. This area three kinds of soils: Soils of the Nile valley (alluvial). The interference zone between the Nile valley and the desert. Soils of the Eastern Desert Plateau (barren). Ten transects (latitude sectors) from west to east were chosen to 1esent these soils. Forty profiles were dug to the depth of 1-1 ½ m. yesentative soil samples were collected from various profile layers. 4 carrying out field descriptions for each profile, samples were for their physical, chemical and mineralogical properties. se analyses included: Some soil physical properties such as, texture, structure, bulk density, consistency, and soil color. Some soil chemical properties such as, organic matter content, CaCO3, soil pH, and soil salinity. Total content of nitrogen and available phosphorus and potassium. Soil content of iron, manganese, zinc, and copper in the DTPAextractable form. The meniralogical composition of the very fine sand fraction. Data obtained were used to fulfill the following objectives. |
