This investigation was conducted in the Farm of Animal uctior, Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Assiut University ng the period from December 1995 to August 1987
ratiøn with the Institute of Animal Production, TehnicaI risty, Federal Republic of West Germany.
This work aimed to evaluate and compare the genetic ntiality for the productiye performance of four e>otic ‘types (naked neck normal , normal, naked neck dwarf, dwarf Loped at th8 institute of Animal production Ui Berlin and
2 strains (Payoumi and Dandarawi) under both impreved
teal conditions prevailaing in Upper Egypt.
The re5L,lts which would have been obtained in the present stigation could be utilized or improving and maNzmsing
uctive performance of Fayoumi and Dandarawi by introducing naked neck gene in order to establish suitable and capable ins which can economically produce under the hard prevailing spheric conditions in Upper Egypt.
This study comprised two ekperiments. The first started irom ‘mber-, 19G to May, 1987, while the second from May, 1986
1997. The first included 1700 chicks and 42 hens1 while
i’d included 1280 chicks and 322 hens during the growing
ng periods, respectively.
During the growing period chicks were raised in floor ders under almost similar optimal conditions and individually hed at the different experimental ages. Throughout the laying od birds were housed in individual cages under similar itions. Each genotype or strain was included two groups.
