Abstract
Background: Tacrolimus has become the most widely used immunosuppressant in living donor liver transplantation (LDLT), as it represents the cornerstone of immunosuppression therapy for liver-transplant recipients and recently currently prescribed to nearly 90% of new liver transplant recipients. It has large inter-individual variability in its pharmacokinetics, so TDM together with monitoring biochemical parameters is an integral part for successful living donor liver transplantation.
