Abstract
Tracheal stenosis is a challenging and not uncommon plague of the otolaryngologist. The circular and cartilaginous structure of the airway has a natural tendency to form concentric narrowing and fibrosis in the face of injury. Because of the nature of airflow dynamics, small changes in the diameter of the airway and the length of the narrowed section create significant changes in airflow that result in rapidly progressive dyspnea requiring urgent intervention.
