Abstract This study was conducted to investigate the effect of different plans of nutrit-ion on the reproductive performance of ewe-lambs including body weight and body condition score as well as hematological, some serum biochemical changes, and hormonal profile in addition to chromosomal aberrations. Thirty five (35) ewe-lambs, 3-4 months old, 13-16 kg body weight, were divided according to their feeding plan into five groups. Blood samples were collected monthly from all animals starting from age of weaning till I st postpartum estrus. Undernourished ewes reached the subsequent reproductive stage later, no twinning was observed, and erythrogram revealed that RBCs, Hb and PCV were significantly decreased togather with leucocytosis, neutrophilia and lymphopenia was noticed, significant I decreases in values of total protein, albumin, grobulin and glucose, as well as significant elevation in values of BUN, AST and ALT, also, significant decrease in triglyceride, cholesterol and HDL as well as significant elevation in values of free fatty acids, hypocalcaemia, significant decrease in serum insulin, 1’3 and I GF -1 in undernourished ewes. Chromosomal aberration revealed significant increase in structural and numerical aberrations associated with different plans of nutrition. Result of supplemented groups in the contrary of undernourished group. |
