Abstract We found an increase in concentration of some heavy metals than permissible level of Egyptian law in El-Ismalia canal water, El Kashab canal and Nile water .There was a negative relation between the concentration of metals and soil depth in soils samples collected from same area. While collected plants showed different concentration of metals in different parts. Rats treated by different doses of chromium for 16 weeks showed histopathological alteration in liver, kidney, testes and brain and their function in dose and time dependant manner. Haemogram revealed decrease in erythrocytic count, hemoglobin concentration and PCV% and increase in WBCs count. Also there was an increase in glucose concentration and decrease in glycogen in liver in all groups. And decrease in cholesterol, triglycerides and phospholipids. |
