Abstract

The skin is considered as the largest and most important organ of the body as it covers the whole body of the animal. Also, it is considered as the first defense line of the body against a lot of microorganisms and parasites which tried to attract the animal’s bodies.
In presence of any microorganism or any affection may produce bad effect on skin, if this harmful effect on the animals health firstly or this effect on the grade degree of the leather goods made from this skin secondly or may lead to animal death especially when it is associated with general fatal effects on all organs of the body.
However, the present study was done to explore about the important skin affections which are affecting the different ruminant’s skin by application of macroscopic and microscopic examinations. The present study was produced on 69 skin specimens from different ruminant’s species (55 cows, 3 buffaloes, 8 sheep, 2 goats and one camel).
There are other 54 ear specimens were obtained from the triangular area of the external ear form different ruminant’s species (23 cows, 15 buffaloes, and 16 camels) to detect the persistent infected animals with BVDv and only one case of calve was persistent infected .
The present results showed that the most skin lesions in ruminant were; skin tumors either it is benign or malignant in its type by about 44 cases from the total number with 62.4 % percentage, while biological skin lesions come secondly in number by 21 cases with 30.4 % in percentage. Finally, the post vaccinal reaction by number 5 cases with 7.2 % percentage.
