Abstract
The present work was carried out on 55 healthy Balady rabbits of different sexes and ages (1 month-2 years). Fifty rabbits were rabbits were used for the gross anatomical studies and 5 adults rabbits were used for the histological investigation to confirm the anatomical findings.
For the gross anatomical studies, full description of the from, parts, location, relation, morphometery and fixation of the stomach, intestines and liver was carried out.
For the histological investigation, complete description of the microscopic structure of the different parts of the stomach, small and large intestines as well as the liver and gall bladder was done.
Diagrams and photographs for the gross anatomical studies and photomicrographs for the histological investigation were prepared.
The obtained results were compared and discussed with those of the rabbit and the other domestic animals. The nomenclature used was adopted by the no mina anatomica veterinaria.
