Abstract
Today the medicinal plants occupied a very important place in the pharmacology field The medicinal plants are main source of pharmaceutical medicament such as cortisone, sex hormones, atropine, crude extract of alum, croton oil and strychnine, etc……
Croton tiglium was selected in our study as a one of medical plants required several investigation.
The croton oil extracted from seeds of croton tiglium.
This oil used medically as drustic purgative and act as counter irritant.
Toxicological studies performed on the active principle in seeds of croton tiglium as following;-
1- chemical analytical studies on seeds of croton tiglium.
2- extraction of active principles from seeds of croton tiglium.
3- in this study we used 160 albino rats divided into two groups.
4- effect of croton oil on the immune-response:
This study was divided into two groups as following:-
Group(1): effect of croton oil different dose on the immune-response, our results revealed that the croton oil have immunosuppressive effect.
Group(2): effect of croton oil at different interval times on the immune-response.
Our results revealed that the late effect of croton oil on the immune-response disappeared graduallytill 4th day where the 5th subgroup didn’t differ significantly from the control. These results due to animal body can be clarify from the croton oil through 4th day.
