Abstract
The remote access connections allow users working at home or on the road to connect to remote organization server. There are several ways to connect to remote devices or to remote networks; such as dial-in connection, LAN connection, wireless LAN connection and Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection. VPN connection is more secure remote access technology and it is lower cost needed to support this technology as compared to alternative technologies like ”leased line”.
Windows-based VPNs supports both the remote access VPN connection and the site-to¬site VPN connection. This research provides detailed information about how you can use five computers to create a test lab which use to configure and test both the VPN remote access technology and the VPN site-to-site technology by using Microsoft Windows Server 2003 & Microsoft Windows XP.
