Abstract This work introduces modified AGC amplifiers suitable for satellite communications. The different techniques used in modifying existing AGC amplifier circuits, and the results accomplished can be summarized as follows : Simple AGC amplifier have been designed to have the following characteristics : - High dynamic range of about 52Db. - Very good linear performance. - fluctuations of F-3Db bandwidth with gain change are small. - F-3Db bandwidth is not less than 535 MHz, and flat gain over almost the complete range of the frequency, is achieved through the collector peaking technique. - Using a limited number of directly coupled stages, namely three stages. - Low equivalent input noise voltage. - the temperature effect is not good compared with other circuits. 2- Reduction of the equivalent input noise voltage of the multiplier AGC amplifier circuit by operating the quad transistors at current bias levels lower than that of the difference input transistors. |
