Abstract

The presnt study is concerned with one type of conservation, which is LENGTHENING. A Basic Conversation Sprial is proposed by the author to handle the conversation prcess. The structural aspects studied, proved that in ordr to lengthen a ship, with no alterations in the scantlings, are highly dependent on the ship’s main particulars, especially the section modulus.In this respective. br In -#111;-#114;-#100;-#101;-#114; to reach the final descision an econmaic study is made in terms of the Average annual Cost as an econimec criterion. This study is based on the results of the structural modifiacaions, as well as any possible alterations in the engine. Theapplication is based on the extra investment, of the new block, tobe added to the capital cost of the converted ship.
