Abstract Studies of some physiological activities in irradiated rats treated with a mixture of thiamine diphosphate, pyridoxal phosphate and pantothenic acid. Key words Gamma radiation – thiamine diphosphate – pyridoxal phosphate – pantothenic acid – irradiated rats – red blood cell – haemoglobin – carbohydrate metabolism – ALT – AST. The thesis was performed to evaluate the possible role of a mixture of thiamine diphosphate, (active form of vitamin B1) pyridoxal phosphate (active form of vitamin B6) and pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) in the modulation of radiation-induced disorders in certain biological activities. The mixture was intraperitoneally administered to irradiated rats 2 hours post whole body gamma irradiation with 5 Gy (shot dose) and for 5 consecutive days. |
