Abstract

Thermal efficiency of Combined Cycle Power Plants (CCPPs) depends strongly on the Heat Recovery Steam Generation (HRSG) design which links the gas cycle with the steam cycle. Therefore, the HRSG must be carefully designed in order to maximize the heat exchanged and to improve the overall performance of the plant. Firstly I starting with discuss types of HRSG such as vertical tube HRSG and horizontal tube HRSG , water tube and fired tube, also discuss some component such as coils types, tube arrangement ,material selection and the effect of HRSG degradation on the power plant efficiency. Then used matlab program that I designed it to find the total tube area of the coils in triple pressure (HRSG) as case study. and study the effect of some parameters on the total area of coils such as gas flow rate ,exhaust gas temperature, steam flow rate and outlet steam temperature and make case study (design and performance) for triple pressure heat recovery steam generator.
