Abstract The importance of quality improvement and excellent performance in the highly competitive world market, lead many organizations, their top managers, project managers, and engineers to implement the new philosophies such as Six Sigma in their organizations. This paper described the Six Sigma concept as a quality initiative that may be applied in the construction industry. The historical theory, principles, and methodology of Six Sigma are first discussed. Then the tools and the techniques used in Six Sigma were illustrated. The main focus in this report is adopting the Six Sigma approach (DMAIC procedure) in construction projects and giving importance to some Statistics tools by an application example and illustration graphing. A case study of implementing this methodology in Concrete Batch plant to improve customer satisfaction by applying SigmaXL software was explained. SigmaXL not only saves a Jot of time but is very easy to operate and it has easy interface.
