Abstract

The aim of this research is to study migration effect of different types of pollutants through plastic packaging materials into foods. The changes happened to some of the packaged foods as drinking water, oils, Halawa, Pepsi, chipsy, milks, orange juice, cake, dates, tomato juice, pickles and cheese stored under natural environmental conditions have been studied.
Movement of these volatile pollutants that stored near the packaging foods at different storing periods 30 days to 12 months are studied. The amount of malathion as an example penetrated to the foods has been estimated by analysis gas chromatography (GC).
Also, the interactions occurred between the plastic package made from different types of plastics and food or drinking has been followed and estimated by FTIR, UV/Visib. spectra and molecular gas chromatography (GC).
The physical and chemical properties oils as viscosity, Refractive index, % free fatty acids, peroxide value and oxidative stability were also determined after different storing periods.
