Abstract

The thesis comprises three main chapters; introduction, experimental and results and discussion. Also, it includes 133 Figures, 44 Tables and 252 references. As well as English and Arabic summary. The main chapters are: Chapter 1: {Introduction and literature survey} This chapter contains a general introduction about photophysics and spectral behavior of ketocyanine dyes. These dyes can be used as sensors for various systems such as micellar media, biological systems and in electrochemical devises. Also, they can serve as electroactive and photoactive materials in molecular electronics, such as biochemical fluorescent technology, efficient nonlinear optical, organic light diode and solar cells. This chapter includes a brief introduction about the solvatochromic properties, the nature of the interaction of similar dyes with different organized assemblies including; micelles (whether it was cationic, anionic or neutral), cyclodextrins (a- or P-CDs) and Bovine serum albumin as well as their binding with DNA has been discussed. klso, their interactions with some alkali metal ions have been introduced. Finally, an insight on the nature of electrochemical correlation between the inhibition and stability of dyes, as well as literature survey on inhibition of C-steel in hydrochloric acid were reviewed.
