Abstract

Structural members and machine parts may fail to perform their intended functions if excessive elastic deformation, yielding (plastic deformation), or fracture (break) occurs. For a failure safe design, the engineer must determine possible modes of failure of the structural or machine system.
An active field of research was studied the use of the computational analysis methods, which can be used for simulate realistic cylinder and predict the generated stresses. The Finite Element Package (ABAQUS) used to study the effect of the holes and surface texture on the generated stresses of thick-walled cylinder under internal pressure.
