Abstract
The aim of the present work reports our attempt in developing machine translation system for scientific English sentences to Arabic sentences by applying a specific domain in the field of translation. In this thesis we specify the translation on statistical sentences that we can meet them in a mathematical and statistical field which is very important on a mathematical subfield in Mathematics department. The thesis is consists of 5 chapters. Chapter 1 is an introduction about the thesis. Chapter 2 is background information about machine translation and natural language processing which introduces the MT’s definition, the important of MT, some basic concepts about MT, show the differences of the translation types and different approaches of the machine translation and we introduced a survey which contains a brief history of MT and the related works. In Chapter 3 we discussed the developed English-to-Arabic prototype MT frame work, how it design and how we prepare our output to be tested by the proposed MT system. Chapter 4 presents the results, evaluation of the MT system and displays some screen shots from the proposed MT application program and how it implemented. Chapter 5 contains the thesis’s conclusion and gives directions for the future researches.
