Abstract
Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) caused by the influenza A HPAI virus represent a signifcant threat to
the poultry industry and humans in Egypt . Silently infected free ranging ducks and geese as well as mixed
species in backyard holdings are suspected to play essential role in spread of virus and most of human cases
occur in this sector.
