Abstract The present study was performed to document the most common surgical gastric disorders affecting cows and buffaloes. Surgical treatment of these disorders and the reproductive performance of the treated animals were evaluated. However the importance of clinical, ultrasonography and some haematological and biochemical profiles in diagnosis of these disorders were <under taken.In the course of this study one hundred and nine animals (28 cows and 81 buffaloes) out of 228 suspected animals admitted to the Clinic of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine- Zagazig University were diagnosed with different surgical gastric disorders. Diagnosis was achieved by clinical, ultrasonographic, laboratory examinations. Also some confirmatory tests as ultrasound-guided paracentesis and exploratory laparorumenotomy were applied. |
