Toshka depression is located in the southwestern Desert of Egypt, at
about 250 km southwest of Aswan, between latitudes 22° 30’ - 23° 45’ N
and longitudes 30° 0’ - 31° , with an area covers about ٩٠٣٠٫١ K m2.
The current study contains five chapters:
Ch.1: investigates the Physical Geographical Characteristics of
Toshka Depression , including the geological , surface structure climate
features ,and soil.
Ch.2: Studies the Geomorphological map of Toshka Depression ,
including Geographical Distribution for Slope Profiles , analysis of Slops
angles of The Northern and Land Forms which,In addition to the the
Geomorphological features such as : Polished Watermelon , Inselbergs
Hummocks .
Ch.3: explains the Sand Forms , such as : Sand Sheets , Sand
Ripples , Crescentic Dunes ,
Ch.4: The main objective of this chapter is to estimate the rate and
extent of water loss from the Toshka Lakes during the period 2000 - 2008
using multi-temporal satellite images coupled with digital elevation model
(DEM) analysis, and provide an approximate prediction for future changes
in hydrologic regime of these lakes over the next years. In addition to this,
gross changes in the aerial extent and volume of water within these lakes
are discussed alongside their potential environmental impacts.

Ch.5: discusses the applied Geomorphology for the depression. It showed
that there is strong relation between Possibility of general development in
the Future and the surface nature . There is a direct influence of The Water
of Toshka Lakes’s on the agricultural activity and man- populated center
. this Chapter studies the following Point : agricultural , expansion ,
irrigation Problems , the Future development of new Settlements , mining
and industrial activities , development of the animals and fish wealth ,
generating electricity from wind and the solar power . Finally , the Study
Paid attention to the Possibility of developing the transport network ,
tourism , social services and its role in developing of Wadi El–Farigh
Depression.
