Abstract Hanan Abdallah Amin Saad: Use of Some Rumen Bacteria Modified by Molecular Biology in Ruminants Nutrition. Unpublished M.Sc. Thesis, Department of Animal Production, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, 2010. This study investigated the effect of using four strains and one species of cellulolytic bacteria (Cellulomonas cellulasea, Acetobacter xylinum , Thermonospora fusca, Ruminococcus albus and Bacillus sp .) on sugarcane tops treated in anaerobic condition. Three experimental trials were conducted, experiment (1) : four strains and one species of cellulolytic bacteria (Cellulomonas cellulasea , Acetobacter xylinum, Thermonospora fusca, Ruminococcus albus and Bacillus sp .) were separated from rumen liquor of baladi sheep and evaluated by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with primers specific to various protein genes . Experiment (2) : bacteria were used as biological treatments for silage made from sugarcane tops to evaluate the changes that occurred in chemical composition and cell wall constituents of ensiled sugarcane tops. Experiment (3) A complete randomized design for 21 days on sheep about 40 ± 0.5 kg body weight fed with periods of 21 days on four different silage of sugarcane tops , untreated and treated with cellulolytic bacteria to study the effect of treatments on digestibility , |
